Atlantic Dash is two firefighters from the Welsh capital of Cardiff, who list their essential equipment as two men, one boat, and no items of clothing. Perhaps they have also been inspired by the Naked Rower? As they put it themselves, more people have been to space than have rowed the Atlantic, and it is being in this elite group that has inspired the duo.
The other reason is the worthy charities they support; The Fire Fighters Charity, Help for Heroes, Breast Cancer Care and WRVS. The boat itself is borrowed, which means all the more money can go directly to the aforementioned charities.
