Colleagues Toby and Nick Moore are usually far more at home talking about, and travelling by, planes, not boats. Their day job sees them managing and marketing aircraft on behalf of DVB Bank. Both though do have previous form, having sailed around the world on different occasions. They were motivated by the enormous personal challenge of the race. Toby was inspired by the book, The Naked Rower, by winner of the first Atlantic Rowing Race in 1997, Rob Hamill. Meanwhile, a chance meeting with female solo ocean rower, Roz Savage, planted the seed in Nick´s head. It´s made doubly hard for them, as Nick is based in Singapore and Toby in London, so shared training time is limited.

They are raising money for Shelterbox, which provides shelter for those displaced by natural or manmade disaster.
