Ocean Reunion are four old school friends brought together by one huge aim: to row the Atlantic. The past year has seen the team get their boat on the water, thanks to their title sponsor AJN Steelstock, which has allowed them to have a few 24 hour rows on the East Coast. The team consists of Gus who is personal trainer and endurance conditioning coach, Joe Barnet a keen sportsman and semi-professional cricketer, Jack Mayhew who has competed in many long distance triathlons and Iron Man competition and Angus Collins who last year successfully rowed the Indian Ocean in a world record bid. Before the race, Ocean Reunion will be rowing around the Mediterranean and across the North sea several times.
Ocean Reunion are aiming to raise £100,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Teenage Cancer Trust. Cystic Fibrosis Trust are the only UK-wide charity making a daily difference to the lives of people with cystic fibrosis, and those who care for them. Teenage Cancer Trust is a charity that has a personal connection with the team. At the age of 18 a friend from school was diagnosed with leukaemia, thanks to great research and support, their friend made a rapid recovery and is now living a healthy life.
