who we are
1. Associazione Italiana per la Lotta al Neuroblastoma
2. Cardiac Risk in the Young
I grew up on the shores of Lake Maggiore near Varese, in the north of Italy, and this is where my passion for rowing started. A passion that has now spanned over 20 years. Over this period I’ve raced on both lakes and rivers in Italy and the UK. However I discovered the world of ocean rowing by accident. I was actually searching online for books on Mount Everest expeditions and that’s when I found a book about Frank Samuelsen and George Harbo, who in June 1896 rowed from New York to the Isles of Scilly. I was mesmerized by the fact that such a feat was humanly achievable. I was hooked. I started reading book after book about ocean rowing and I first considered rowing solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 2007. It was only in 2013 though that I felt truly ready to face this challenge so I went to La Gomera to see the start of the Talisker Atlantic Challenge. Now here I am, finally preparing my solo crossing.
I am also thrilled to be able to use this row to benefit two amazing charities: Cardiac Risk in the Young and Associazione Italiana per la Lotta al Neuroblastoma. I want to increase awareness of the incredible work that they do and inspire others to support and donate to these fantastic charities.
