who we are

Callum Gathercole

United Kingdom

Their Journey

Callum Gathercole, 19, a student of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bristol, has been rowing since he was 9; first for Cranmore School, later for Walton Rowing Club and currently for Bristol University. He has rowed at Henley Royal Regatta, represented England at the Home International in 2011 and GB in European and World Internationals in 2012 and 2013. Rowing the Atlantic will definitely be his biggest ever challenge faced both physically and mentally. Callum, a huge Concorde fan with a nutty sense of humour, is very proud to support his chosen small charities. His competitive spirit and massive determination mean he is looking forward to crossing the finish line in Antigua in as few days as possible.

Their Charity

I am supporting three small but hugely important charities and please choose one to support or split as you would like.

My dad died of a brain tumour 2 years ago. He received the most amazing care from the Princess Alice Hospice.

Many suffer from Alzheimers and I want to help raise funds for charities that might find a cure for Alzheimers and for brain tumours. Brain tumour research is hugely under-funded and yet the largest cancer killer of the under 50s.

Be part of the world record. Donate £100 or more and you can get your name on a sticker which will cross the Atlantic with me.
