As week five draws to a close, there is a lot of talk from the water of ‘milestones’. Although we aren’t sure if, under the blazing sun of the Atlantic, these appear as mirages, a message from a friendly dolphin, or, more likely, the rather more technologically sound race tracker, they can only be a good thing for the morale of our brave crews!

As the Caribbean shoreline grows ever closer, solo rower Sogno Atlantico is looking forward to marking another significant milestone – 2,000 miles rowed and only 1,000 to row. There is now only 10 nautical miles between Matteo and his fellow solo rowers Sea Rover Greg and Facing It Stuart! Meanwhile, the Atlantic Lions celebrated their 1,000 mile mark by gaining their 1,000th Twitter follower – keep the messages of support coming in!

Ocean Reunion are in the lead and with only 160 nautical miles to go, their support crew are predicting their arrival time in Antigua – Tuesday in time for sundowners on the beach… or will they make it in time for champagne breakfast?
